Easter Giveaway

BS1

I wanted to add to your Easter basket by giving away a copy of my e-book, Haunted.

(Not that it has anything to do with Easter).

BS2

When Lenard Blake is forced to leave his wife, he divorces not just her but her influential family, who makes it impossible for him to keep his job as a Denver police officer, never mind to find another one anywhere in Colorado. But a rural police force in Virginia has an opening, and the move could be just the change he needs, so Lenard buys a house based on an Internet ad. But when he arrives, he finds that the house looks nothing like the ad… and it’s haunted as well.

Lenard doesn’t believe in the supernatural, but he decides to research his supposed ghost anyway. Soon he learns that fifteen years ago, Jason Miller was murdered in the house, and his entire family died under suspicious circumstances. As he makes friends with his ghostly companion, they join forces to try to solve the old murders. Along the way, they find there are some things that conquer even death.

A friend of mine suggested the idea of an Easter giveaway to remind people about my previous book, before my new ones come out. I had planned a very different blog post for my appearance here, but when I decided I wanted to do this give away, Grace kindly agreed to let me change in topic.

My second book has just gone into editing. Living Again is about an amputee (Daniel) and his in-home nurse, Jonah. Instantly attracted to one another, they try to keep their relationship professional, but become friends anyway. Daniel becomes more and more involved in Jonah’s life, a big part of which is his handicapped son, Ethan. As Ethan’s medical issues become more grave, Daniel struggles with insecurity and with a homophobic, but powerful, uncle…both of which are threatening to ruin a relationship with Jonah before it ever begins.

(These folks were my inspiration only. I claim no ownership of the pictures and am making no money on the use of these images. They will not be used anywhere in the book.)

My third book will come out in October. Through the Years follows Gene and Edward from the time they meet in college, through the next fifty years of their lives. They are immediately drawn toward each other, and become friends, then closer than brothers. When Edward realizes he is sexually attracted to Gene, he leaves the state and refuses to talk to him. Edward has been brought up to believe that homosexuality is wrong and hates himself for feeling ‘that way’ toward Gene. When he finally comes back, he’s married with a young daughter. Life goes on for them, as it does for most of us, with ups and downs. Gene carves out a place as “Uncle Gene” until Edward’s wife dies years later. It takes even longer for Edward to come to terms with his sexuality, but all the while, Gene is right there.

Brynn Stein has always been a bibliophile and a closet writer. Many years ago, she found the joys of writing fanfiction, which provided an opportunity to “come out of the closet” with her writing. She enjoyed some success writing fiction for various fandoms—even winning several awards, but noticed that she liked writing “alternate universe” stories, meaning that, except for the names and vague situations in common with the fandom she was writing for, most of the story was original. When the opportunity came along to finally publish original fiction, she grabbed it with both hands.

Brynn lives in Virginia with her two two-legged children, and four four-legged ones. Her supportive family encourages her writing and provides a sounding board for fledgling stories. When she isn’t writing, Brynn teaches children with special needs. In free time (it happens once in a while) she reads anything she can get her hands on, and haunts bookstores. She draws and paints, and enjoys the outdoors—especially if she can get to the beach—and is always thinking about her next story.
